You
by Sulekha Esther Rathnam
When the nights are dark and the winds grow cold,
When all is quiet and chill, it is you I long to hold.
When the clouds turn dark and the rain falls much,
When all is damp and wet, I can almost feel your touch.
When the sun comes out and the earth is bright,
When the birds begin to chirp, tis only you I have in sight.
When the nights are bitter and the days are long,
When all is but well, your love is still my song.
When the days are tired and my joy seems gone,
When all seems wrong, still love for you is born.
When all is lost, and I have nothing to hold,
When I am utterly broke, if I have you, I have gold
